International Credit Union Day – Ballinasloe

Join Galway Bay fm this Thursday when we broadcast live from Ballinasloe Credit Union to celebrate International Credit Union Day and the launch of their new debit card and credit union checking account.

On October 21, 2021, Ballinasloe Credit Union will join members of credit unions around the world in celebrating International Credit Union Day®, an annual event to commemorate the impact and achievements of the credit union movement. This year marks the 73rd anniversary of this international event. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to challenge the financial well-being of members of credit unions around the world.

The theme for this year’s celebration, “Building Financial Health for a Better Future” captures the essence of credit unions working with their members to help them overcome these COVID challenges and plan for the future.

In good times and bad, credit unions like Ballinasloe Credit Union are there for their members to help them build and maintain a better financial future for themselves and their families. In Ireland, credit unions are more important and relevant today than ever before.

Credit unions across the island have continued to remain open and have continued to provide the excellent member experience with which credit unions have become synonymous, despite the obstacles posed by the COVIV-19 pandemic and the bottlenecks that followed, north and south of the border.

Credit unions are non-profit financial cooperatives owned by and operated for the benefit of the members they serve. Strong credit unions make strong communities. Credit unions genuinely care about their members and put them at the heart of everything they do.

In addition, a new debit card and a new credit union checking account will be launched on Thursday by Ballinasloe Credit Union,

The new Mastercard debit card and checking account gives Ballinasloe members the ability to fulfill and manage all of their daily banking needs with their credit union while providing this unique personal and local customer experience for credit unions.

Ballinasloe Credit Union members can now apply online to open a MYCU checking account online through the Credit Union website www.ballinasloecreditunion.ie. Or call 090 9643179 for more information on the new Mastercard debit card and current account service.

The new service is currently being rolled out to 16 of the country’s largest credit unions, covering 44 locations nationwide, and several more credit unions are expected to launch the service in the coming month.
